WVUToday News Website

I led the redesign of the WVUToday News website, enhancing user experience and visual appeal with a modern, responsive design, and improving the site's backend for scalability and ease of maintenance, resulting in increased traffic and user satisfaction.

Summary

At the university, I led the comprehensive redesign of the WVUToday News website, the institution’s public-facing news platform. The goal of this project was to improve user experience and visual appeal, making it easier for visitors to access and engage with the latest news and updates from the university.

The redesign process began with thorough user research and analysis to understand the needs and preferences of the website’s diverse audience, including students, faculty, alumni, and the general public. Based on these insights, I developed a modern, responsive design that prioritized readability, accessibility, and ease of navigation. The new layout featured clear sections for different types of news, prominent visuals, and interactive elements to enhance user engagement.

In addition to visual and structural improvements, the project involved significant backend development to ensure the site was robust, scalable, and easy to maintain. I worked closely with the university’s communications team to integrate the content management system, enabling seamless updates and management of news articles and media assets.

The successful launch of the redesigned WVUToday News website resulted in increased traffic and user satisfaction, showcasing the university’s commitment to keeping its community informed and connected.
